# Adjust webcam brightness globally

Hi there, just wondering if it is possible to adjust my Creative webcam settings from within the Gnome or KDE desktop “globally” so that all other programs make use of that settings.

Special use case: I have to use teams (from within a browser) and my face is often too dark as I have a bright window in the background. On a Macbook on the same position on my desk the overall exposure is perfect. Okay, Mac hardware seems to be much better here, but I just wonder if I can have a startup script that adjusts the gamma or brightness to a higher level for my Creative v4l2 device and that all other programs make use of that setting.

Anyone already played around with that??

I guess cameractrls (with a gui cameractrlsgtk4) does the job.
