Acer sprin 3 synaptics finger print sensor not working

I recently installed endeavor os on a acer spin 3 (2 in 1 laptop) that was previously running win 10. It has a finger print reader on it used for Windows hello. It is a synaptics finger print reader and the id is 06cb:00dc. It is not officially supported by fprint.

I have tried fingerprint-gui from the AUR and a variety of drivers. There are no options in the BIOS.

If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding unfortunately the finger print scaner in my device is not on the fprint list of supported scanners. It is on the list of unsupported devices. Thanks for the resource.

Are there any other finger print reader projects?

Is there a Bios update for this laptop that may help?

interesting ill look in to that. I have tried fingerprint GUI it did not detect my sensor as a compatible sensor.
