I fell in love with Pondichera and the south ![]()

I just learned of the Jewish version of that story:
Nathan Ausubelâs 1950 âTreasury of Jewish Folkloreâ has the story of a famous preacher of Dubno whose driver stopped en route to a lecture date and said, âRabbi, do me a favor. For once Iâd like to be the one receiving all the honors and attention, to see what it feels like. For this one engagement, exchange clothes with me. You be the driver and let me be the rabbi.â
The preacher, a merry and generous soul, laughed and said, âAll right â but remember, clothes donât make the rabbi. If youâre asked to explain some difficult passage of the Law, see that you donât make a fool of yourself.â
The exchange was affected. Arrived at their destination, the bogus rabbi was received with tumultuous enthusiasm, and obviously loved every minute of it. Finally, however, there came the dreaded moment when an extremely tricky question was put to him.
He met the test nobly. âA fine lot of scholars you are,â he thundered. âIs this the most difficult problem you could ask me? Why this is so simple even my driver could explain it to you.â Then he called the Preacher of Dubno: âDriver, come here for a moment and clarify the Law for these dull-witted fellows.â

Meh. Itâs going to be 41-43.5 where I am (southern Arizona). Whatâs impressive is the lows; must be pretty humid there as we have lows in the mid 20s.
Weâve had AC blowing for two months here. I used to hate AC, but now I canât live without it., Must be getting older ![]()
I prefer DC, but the power grid is AC, and so are all the appliances, so Iâm kinda stuck with it.
Sorry, I meant air conditioning ![]()
I donât like DC, itâs swampy.

Yeah, my AC also runs on ACâŚ
People made such a big deal about Axl Rose joining AC/DC, but Slash has been right in the middle of them all along⌠![]()
I love my swamps. I donât like those darned chigers!

That reminds me. Back in 2006, I bought Migrating to IPv6, a huge tome every network engineer needed to navigate through the impending doom as we rapidly exhausted our supply of IPv4 numbers ⌠still waiting⌠did I sleep though the IPv5 revolution?
Last time I used it was to raise the height of a second screen ![]()
And I chose Novellâs certification over the new annoying Microsoft certification in the late 90s. I was also trying to figure out how to install the darned Red Hat 5.0 on a Toshiba laptop. Meanwhile, Gael was pushing Mandrake and has now gone on to better things. SighâŚ
What does the farmer say to his cows at night?
Itâs pasture bedtime. ![]()
And why did the scarecrow win an award? He was OUT-STANDING in his field! ![]()
