Cowboy boots were designed with two three items in mind.
1 Pointed toe for ease of inserting the boot into a stirrup.
2 Thick leather covering most of the calf for Rattlesnake strikes.

They were NOT designed for ease of putting on OR taking off the boot.

Forgot about the heel. A deep arch before the heel and a tall heel to keep the
boot in the stirrup whilst riding.
