Feel bad for him, its a really hard lesson for him.

Another side of my brain is also… lets say snarky because this was a pretty stupid thing to do and imo buying stock is even more crazy. Whales want small fishes to put they’re money so they can feed themself!

This is “How not to do stocks 101”, his loss is 100% deserved.

Investing in securities isn’t “crazy” unless you do it with no idea of what you’re doing.
I do some day trading, trade in some cryto and have two 401Ks, that have done a lot better than letting cash sit somewhere doing nothing.

Not started yet but more than likely…
